Hi Bhavin,

Interesting read!

I’m looking at these numbers as direct correlation to “how much value addition these orgs. do for their end-users”…the the philosophy of ‘Customer Success’ – doing everything to create great products and services and money being the byproduct of it.

Overall Google revenue growth rate is dropping i.e. dropped from 93% revenue growth in 2005 to 73% in ’06 to 57% in ’07 to 31% in ’08 and only 4.5% in first half of ’09….i.e. great company, however others, such as FaceBook can do to Google, what Google is going to do to MS!

Google makes money from advertising on other people’s pages, which arent going to be included in the total number of google searches. This makes them hard to compare to a company like Facebook who only has ads on their own domain.

P.S. The comment message is lost if you type the wrong code (firefox 3.5)

It seems they are making huge money because they have huge user base. Creating huge user base is a big task. By providing free services it can be done easily. Google is providing many services which was earlier paid service. Google does acquisition rather then developing service like doubleclick to adsense, blogger, orkut and similarly many. Still we have hope for small innovators who don’t have big infrastructure for their application , they can run on cloud infrastructure.

Money is everywhere. They have struggled a lot to come up in their personal career.

Bhavin i was looking at your ideas from 2005, when i had a chance for one of my friend to meet you at Silicon India Conference, where he had asked looking at your bay and said, who were resellerclub and where they located. Now you have made approach globally.

Good Principles and Best Team makes you to stand in the queue as you have described over this blog.

interesting read… but you also need to take into account that each of these companies are in a different business and follow a different business model. google has shown a interest in other ares basically to get user information, so that they can better monetize their ad revenue.
apple is more of a hardware tech company and has a lot of creative work going on… hence, there is no competition in these areas.
facebook is another facet, it already gets the user information required to show relevant ads from the users themselves (hence the effort to buy facebook is so intense). they do not exactly thrive in ads, since they have other business/revenue models already on track…

overall a very good information collected and assimilated at one place, thanks for the insight into this :-)
